Even from a young age, Andrew has lived, breathed and worked with cars, and since 2005, he’s given his enthusiasm, energy and attention to Alexanders Prestige. His life in the motoring world started when, aged 16, he joined a local BMW dealership as an apprentice. Over the following 11 years he worked his way up to be part of senior management. It was during a drive home with childhood friend and co-founder Alexander Brimelow, through the Lake District, that Andrew decided to leave it all behind and to make Alexanders Prestige what it is today. Now, Andrew leads Prestige and jointly spearheads the rest of the Alexanders Group, including Alexanders Horseboxes, Lehel by Alexanders, and Harvey Cooper Cars. When he’s not in the showroom, he’s usually with his young family, who are already budding petrolheads.
Alexander has always been an entrepreneur. His first deal came aged 13, when he and his father sold a boat engine to a fellow boy and his father – the boy happened to be Andrew North. After leaving school, Alex set up his own catering business which he sold on before working for a number of leading car manufacturers. Alex, with his fastidious attention to detail, wanted to create something better, and Alexanders was born. Since 2005, the company he co-founded with Andrew has become known across the country. Alex has also spearheaded Alexanders Horseboxes – now a leading manufacturer and distributor of horseboxes. In 2016, the father of three was recognised in Yorkshire Business Insider’s coveted 42 under 42 list, recognising the region’s leading business men and women.
