Car Of The Week – Lamborghini RevueltoThe first car of the week of 2025. First things first- Happy New Year! and thank you to everyone who made 2024 a year to remember. Now, it’s down to business.
A Spanish fighting bull named Revuelto fought in Barcelona in the 1880s, and was famous for escaping the ring, rampaging through the crowds. Close to 150 years later, that is the precise bull after which Lamborghini decided to name its latest creation. A car which, in order to live up to its name, needs to be truly bonkers. Is it?
Well, you get a glorious 6.5-litre V12 engine that produces just over 1000bhp when aided by the three electric motors – the first Lamborghini ever to do so. You get serious performance, with the Revuelto making short work of the 0-62 mph dash with a spine-compressing time of just 2.5 seconds, topping out at over 217mph. Madness.
It’s not simple, however, and unlike the Aventador, which got by on brute force in comparison, looks antiquated now. The Revuelto is more complex, with lots of driving modes, ranging from EV only and limited to 178bhp, all the way up to Corsa mode, which is designed specifically for track time and/or scaring your passenger, by bringing its full 1000bhp to bear. It also uses clever technology like four-wheel steering and torque vectoring, and the front wheels are driven purely by electric motors, all of which ensure it can put down as much power as possible, aided by an active rear wing, diffuser and super slick bodywork for extra downforce.
There’s no doubt the Revuelto is quick off the mark, but with carbon ceramic brakes consisting of 10-piston front callipers and 4-piston rear callipers, plus regenerative braking, Lamborghini have left no room for doubt that this car can stop (almost), as well as it goes. It’s not all performance however, a Lamborghini simply must look the part. Thankfully, the Revuelto is a proper poster car, and in black, like this one, it looks like the kind of vehicle that Batman would use.
Articles for Lamborghinis previously would have ended here, but for the first time, the Revuelto gets a practical paragraph. Here goes. Thanks to the gearbox being mounted the other way around and the fact there’s no clunky differential at the front (just two neat electric motors), there’s more cabin space than in the Aventador. So is the Revuelto worth double the price? We’d be tempted to say yes. It’s faster, more nuanced, and is even more spacious.
