Mesmerising Maserati MC20
Maserati has one of the most famous names in motorsport, with a history of racing that extends even before Ferrari was around. Responsible for some of the most iconic racing cars throughout the years, in more recent times they have mostly become known for luxury GT, SUV and saloon cars. Yet the famous trident badge had never lost that racing association to the brand, and now they have the perfect car to justify the reputation.
The MC20 signalled a ‘new era for the brand’ with the creation a super sports car that manages to fuse supercar performance, with the latest technology and motorsport knowledge, yet retain the ability to offer luxury and comfort and abundance. An aerodynamic body Maserati state as ‘completely wind-tunnel designed’ and patented engine technology derived from Formula 1 ensure that the MC20 performs like a supercar should, whilst a chassis made entirely of carbon fibre and composites ensure that the car retains a light weight to provide sharp handling and even reasonable fuel consumption for a car with 630bhp.
Despite so much effort going into the lightness, airflow management and handling performance, the MC20 cabin manages to be a comfortable place to be. The extensive use of Alcantara with laser cut detailing to the comfortable Sport seats and door trims looks cutting edge and stylish enough to match the exterior, especially when coupled with the exposed carbon fibre transmission tunnel and trim. The car’s ability to Grand Tour as well as set your pulse racing, but also be easy to drive no matter the speed you’re travelling at, is something that it pulls off very well indeed.
