Alexanders Track Day 2021 - Blyton Park

For a number of years now we have treated some of our customers to an annual track day to thank them for their business over the years and to give them the chance to explore what their cars can really do without the restrictions of speed limits and traffic jams. With limited spaces, demand always outstrips availability and this year was certainly no exception. With a year off last year, thanks to COVID, we returned to Blyton Park in Lincolnshire at the end of June with the lucky customers who had been selected from the many who had shown interest.

An early start at the showroom in glorious sunshine and a convoy that grew as we travelled down, the weather may have taken a turn for the worse as we arrived but the selection of cars on offer did little to dampen the spirits. From a Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS, McLaren 720 S and a Lamborghini Huracan EVO to a Mini GP 3, Mustang GT and Sam from YouTube channel Seen Through Glass’s Abarth 595 ‘Project Biposto’, there really was something for everyone.

After the drivers briefing and a quick breakfast pastry or two it was straight onto the track to test the abilities of both car and driver. The weather may have been changeable and the cars varied but the commitment and driving talent was certainly of a high standard. One of the standout cars for sound was a stunning 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, closely followed by the scream of that Huracan EVO’s 5.2 V10, both pushing the noise restrictions for the track to the limit (and possibly beyond).

After lunch the conditions improved and a warm dry track meant that the circuit was never lacking with action. Two Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio’s certainly proving what an impressive car they are with consistently quick lap times, but for sheer impressive speed few could match the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet of Instagram personalities Supercar Nigel and his son Supercar Harry.

Adding to the desirability factor was long term customer Chris with his E46 BMW M3 CSL, a car that many who have visited the showroom will have seen stored in part of our Aftersales department. Following a mild ‘recommissioning’ in our workshop prior to the day it was fantastic to see the car out on the track and hearing the 3.0 straight-six on this future classic.

A great day was had by everyone involved and after the past 18 months it was fantastic to be able to host an event again for our customers. We would like to thank everyone who attended our Blyton Park track day this year and look forward to seeing everyone again at the next one!
