The three letters ‘’GTR’’ make up what is a very exciting history in the motoring world, they have been the story behind some of the worlds most loved cars and have even been stars in the movies. Nissan have produced many cars with the sacred markings since 1969 when the first Skyline GTR was released and it was nothing short of a masterpiece, so much so that the car continued development and production until 2002 when it was finally brought to a halt, but this wasn’t to last. In 2007 Nissan again shocked the world with the return of the GTR in its latest form, the R35. The car blew people’s minds with its staggering performance statistics, a 3.8litre twin turbo V6 that didn’t come with an official BHP output due to its hand-crafted construction, however Nissan claimed each car produced between 471 – 542hp. The GTR produced such extreme performance figures that the tyres had to be specially made in order to cope with the immense cornering speeds and if that wasn’t enough, the tyres were then filled with nitrogen as oxygen would have been too unstable for such performance.
Moving on a decade, Nissan have brought us the 2017 GTR Nismo edition. More power, more performance and a lot more carbon fibre. The Nismo GTR boasts 592hp, a 0 – 60 time of 2.5 seconds and a beautifully crafted exterior that produces more down force than any car previously made by Nissan.
The Nissan GTR Nismo is a car that must be witnessed so we highly recommend a visit to Alexanders Prestige to see this magnificent example of engineering.
