Every now and again Porsche lets their motorsport technicians unleash their creative side and put their vastly experienced heads together to create an even more extreme version of the already impressive 911 Turbo range, resulting in the GT2. The introduction of the GT2 is a holy grail for Porsche enthusiasts and a chance to experience what the latest 911 is really capable of when it is turned up to 11. Out goes the four-wheel drive system, a significant amount of creature comforts and a lot of the restricting electronic aids, to be replaced by the thrill of unhinged power and decades of racing pedigree and engineering at its finest.
In 2007 Porsche unveiled their latest 997 GT2. Rear wheel drive, a 6-speed manual gearbox, semi-slick tyres, 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds, a top speed of over 200mph and 532bhp from the twin turbo flat six engine. Performance figures that reportedly even Porsche themselves were surprised at how much power that engine could create when turned all the way up. The result is a raw driving experience, a chance to experience the un-dampened noise, the feel of every bump and hit every apex with precise turn in and feel from the racing steering wheel. The GT2 is an impressive 145kg lighter than the 997 Turbo thanks to the lack of 4WD system, a glass-reinforced plastic engine cover, titanium exhaust system and Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) as standard.
Our GT2 comes in iconic Porsche Carrara White and comes with black leather and Alcantara interior with the addition of the leather interior pack. With a host of optimal features that include the Sport Chrono package plus, heated adaptive sports seats with memory, embossed Porsche crests to the headrests and central storage console lid, 19” Porsche GT3 wheels painted in Basalt Black metallic and, not that you’ll want to listen to it with that engine note, a BOSE surround sound system. This rare car is believed to be one of just 62 right hand drive models that were built for the UK market and has covered just 10,150 miles. As you’d expect with such a stunning example, it comes with a full Porsche main dealer service history and has recently been serviced by Porsche themselves.
