There are a select band of supercar manufacturers who enjoy instant global brand recognition, and Ferrari is most certainly prominent among them.
Ferrari’s lineage goes back to 1939. However, it was a couple of years after the end of the Second World War that the Italian brand really started to make its mark, with the 125 S. From this point on, each of the marque’s automobiles has borne the distinctive Cavallino Rampante (or ‘prancing horse’) badge.
The aforementioned 125 S, a V12-powered open-top two-seater, is one of the Ferrari’s finest-ever vehicles. Other examples include the roaring V8-propelled F40 (1994) and the 250 GT California Spyder SWB (1960). The latter, a gorgeous, super-rare sports car, was immortalised in the hit 1987 movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Today’s Ferraris are no less alluring, not when there are models such as the 488 GTB, the F12 and the LaFerrari to choose from.
