Car Of The Week – Aston Martin Vantage V8

It’s sports car season. The temperature is hotting up, and with it, car of the week is too. This week, we’re focusing on the Aston Martin Vantage V8. OR more specifically, the Vantage you can see in the pictures. It’s as close to new as you can come, bar waiting for the car at the end of the production line.

This is the new shape Aston Martin Vantage, updated in 2024. for the most obvious exterior changes, look to the headlights, which are sharp enough to cut. That gaping Aston Martin mouth has been altered, this time more closely resembling the DB12’s, and it’s flanked by two vents that go through into the wheelarches. As seems to be the norm, the Vantage also comes with a power hike over the last model as well.

However, it’s the interior where the real difference is. It’s worlds away from the previous generation Vantage, and brings Aston’s sports car right up to date. They haven’t got carried away with making everything too modern, thankfully. The top of the dash is sloped, harking back to Aston’s of old, there are wonderfully tactile buttons on the steering wheel (none of which are touch-sensitive), and the scroll wheels on the centre console could be the most satisfying in the world. Items that perhaps would have been overlooked in previous Astons are now monumentally better, and it’s these small touches throughout that make the cabin a wholly delightful place to be.

Every new shape Vantage will do that though. This one is car of the week because it has a few items on its specification that make it stand out, if you know what to look for. Firstly, because it’s the biggest option available, nestled behind the 21- inch, forged diamond-turned wheels are carbon ceramic brakes- a ten thousand pound option from factory. Google China Grey Aston Martin Vantage, and the cars that come up don’t look exactly like this one. That’s because this car has full car satin paint protection film (PPF), completely transforming the look of the car. Other important options include the Black upper and lower packages, which remove pretty much any and all chrome from the trim. There’s even some small touches like the presenting door handles which you might not realise is even an option, along with Black chrome wings, badges and script.
