Car Of The Week – Bentley Continental GT V8In 2024, Grey was the most popular colour. Out of every car registered in 2024, 28% were grey. Second place was awarded to black, which accounted for 21%, and Blue, which accounted for 14,9% of all registrations. Silver was way down the order, in sixth place.
And to be honest, we’ve been left slightly confused, thanks to the subject of this issue of car of the week: a Bentley Continental GT. Extreme Silver is the name of the paint, and it falls under the banner of Bentley’s Extended Range. Which means that this is the superlative silver, and although it’s a cliché, it’s a colour that has to be seen in person to really do it justice.

The paint is stunning and the Mulliner Driving Specification, along with Blackline specification, transform the look of the exterior, with black grille and accents, and 22” Gloss Black wheels. The Centenary specification (1919-2019), gives the car little gold touches here and there, such as gold front and rear badging, special centenary welcome lighting. Under the bonnet, the W12 is missing, in favour of Truth be told though, a Bentley is all about the interior.
What a place to be. Whether it’s the detailed quilting of a seat or one of the many knurled knobs, every single surface your finger comes into contact with oozes class and quality. It’s a difficult feeling to describe. The sense of occasion is all but unmatched. The rotating dash (which Bentley tell us is the first of its kind), might seem like a bit of a gimmick, but we secretly quite enjoy the calm drama of it. Front seat comfort specification and the auditory assault that is the Bang & Olufsen sound system make long journeys an absolute breeze. Which is exactly what this car does best.
