Car Of The Week – Ferrari 488 Pista

Pista means track. A harder, lighter, more focused version of the 488, for those few who are brave enough to want more. A car that produces 711bhp and 568lb-ft of torque isn’t for the weak-hearted.

An increasingly rare car, the 488 has dropped from 458 registered on the road four years ago, to just 295 at the start of 2025. A testament to the car’s capability and how desirable they’ve become.

Year: 2019

Mileage: 200

Colour: Rosso Corsa

Interior: Nero Alcantara with Rosso details

Let’s dive into the spec plaque though, and find out exactly what makes this car so special. Immediately, you’ll probably have noticed the car isn’t just Rosso Corsa – it has an Extra Range two-tone livery stripe down the centre in Argentino Nurburgring and Blu Nart.

One thing you’ll find on a lot of track cars is carbon fibre- for lightness and strength and this 488 lives up to its name in that respect, with well, lots of it. From the front side splitters to the engine cover and centre console, this is a car that is fit for purpose in every sense of the phrase. The interior carries on the racing theme, with Alcantara covering almost every surface your fingers can find, including the carbon Daytona racing seats.

It’s not completely unusable in real life either. Although it’s a stripped-out track car in spirit, this 488 benefits from creature comforts such as a suspension lifter and reverse camera. As well as a High-power JBL HiFi system, should the truly epic V8 song from behind your head ever prove boring (spoiler alert- it won’t!). There’s also full car paint protection film, which feels like a given these days, but nevertheless crucial to preserve that lustrous Ferrari red.
