Car Of The Week – Ferrari Purosangue

With the arrival of the Ferrari Luce, quite possibly one of Ferrari’s most important cars of recent times, it seems like an apt time to look at one of their most successful models. Namely, the Purosangue.

Why was it so successful? Well, we know these days that people like an elevated seating position. It’s more than that, though, perhaps because it’s the most usable Ferrari, and yet doesn’t compromise on the powertrain – a 6.5-litre V12, and like it or not, that’s where Ferrari’s heritage lies – in truly excellent engines.

Year: 2024

Mileage: 2,850

Colour: Viola Hong Kong

Interior: Nero Alcantara with Nuovo Giallo Stitching

As far as Purosangue specs go, we’re pretty big fans of this one. Viola Hong Kong is the colour, and it’s a two-layer, deep purple that was developed within Ferrari’s TailorMade department. Eage-eyed Ferrari fans will also spot that the Scuderia shields on the sides are larger than usual – that’s because they’ve been painstakingly airbrushed on. That’s right- it’s paint.

With regards to the exterior, if it’s not Viola HK, then there’s a good chance it’s made of carbon-fibre, from swathes of the material covering the wheel arches, to smaller details like the wheel cups. Thankfully, both areas are protected by PPF. The great specification continues inside, with the stitching a colour upon request – Nuovo Giallo, matching the seat belts and also the brake calipers.

This is a car that’s got it all then – the looks, the performance and the space for a family of four. The perfect Ferrari, perhaps – a success that Ferrari will very much be hoping the Luce can replicate.
