Car Of The Week – Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica

If you ask a child to draw a car, it’s usually a loud colour and will almost definitely be wedge-shaped. Oh, and also be covered in carbon fibre. Step forward then, the Huracan Tecnica. In a world of green over tan and ‘gentleman-spec’ cars, this is the antichrist.

Loud colour, check – It’s Arancio California, and it makes every other car in the showroom look dull. Wedge-shaped, check that box too. The bonnet and engine cover seem to be missing, and in their place, two large swathes of carbon fibre, just because why not.

Sitting between the RWD and the track-focused STO in the Huracan family, the Tecnica benefits from the best of both worlds. A free-revving 5.2-litre V10, sans turbocharger, that hits the limiter at 8,500, churning out 631bhp and 565Nm of torque. One hundred percent of all that power goes to the rear wheels alone, too.

Since it sits between the RWD and the STO, the Huracan is theoretically the perfect car to drive both to and around a track. Managing to combine the power of the STO with the more muted appearance of the RWD, if such a thing could ever be said about a Lamborghini.

Specification-wise then, there’s plenty to go at. But what you might not be able to tell from the photos includes the Functional Pack that makes the car infinitely more enjoyable to drive on the road, including Apple CarPlay, Lift, Parking sensors and a rear view camera. Because let’s face it, visibility isn’t the Huracan’s strong point. But that’s not why you buy a car like this. You buy it because when you draw a car, the results are still loud, wedge-shaped, and draped in carbon fibre. A supercar.
