Car Of The Week – Land Rover Defender OCTA Edition One

The Defender OCTA name is derived from a diamond, and its Octahedral shape, which inspired the new signature graphic and the symbol on the car key: a Black diamond.

The Edition One is available only during the first year of production, and features almost every option the Defeder OCTA has, as standard. What makes the Defender OCTA so special though, is that under the bonnet there sits a 4.4-litre, mild hybrid V8.

Year: 2025

Mileage: 5800

Colour: Faroe Green

Interior: Khaki and Ebony Ultrafabrics

Making this the most powerful Defender ever made, reaching speeds of up to 155mph thanks to 590lb-ft of peak torque and 626bhp. 0-60mph vanishes in 3.8 seconds too. The OCTA is the most performance-oriented (on-road or otherwise), Defender ever made, according to Land Rover.

The OCTA introduces hydraulically-interlinked 6D Dynamics Suspension for greater wheel articulation, and sits wider and higher than a normal Defender, meaning it can wade through over a metre of water without trouble. There is also extra underbody protection

Faroe Green is exclusive to the Edition One, as is the Chopped Carbon Fibre to the bonnet script, fender and bonnet vent surrounds as well as the backs of the front seats and centre console trim. The Edition One also get a choice of a two Ultrafabrics interiors. Speaking of the interior, the front seats are new performance items that Land Rover says are more supportive, and include Body and Soul seat technology that allow those in the front to feel as well as hear the music.

This has pretty much every option you can get on an Edition One too – 20” wheels that allow for the fitment of chunkier rubber, and Matte PPF, so when the going gets rough, the paintwork stays in shape.
