URBAN’S WIDETRACK URBAN WARRIOR

Only a few decades ago car customisation for prestige vehicles, especially off-road and SUV vehicles, was a scarce commodity. There were limited run bespoke creations and a selection of aftermarket additions but not much to write home about. Fast forward to today and the amount of choice and extent to which you can enhance your prestige car is seemingly endless. There appears to be something for everyone and for every vehicle, from additional or replacement parts to full customisations and bespoke creations depending upon your vision, and of course, bank balance. One of those companies specialising in luxury off-road creations is Buckinghamshire based customisation specialists Urban Automotive.

Urban Automotive started, like many other customisation specialists, with making replacement parts for the previous generation Land Rover Defender and has grown into one of the foremost vehicle modification companies in the country. They have evolved into much more than just replacements for existing parts and now offer their own range of alloy wheels, in association with renowned American manufacturer Vossen, interior re-trimming and bespoke design services, engine and exhaust system upgrades and even an in-house carbon fibre manufacturing facility to create bodywork and styling kits for a variety of makes and models. They made their name with luxury Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Velar styling kits and now have branched out into offering enhancements for other vehicles including the Bentley Bentayga and their latest addition, the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG.

The Urban G-Wagon Widetrack is their latest and most comprehensive vehicle to date, creating a range of a possible 52 carbon fibre components, widened track enhancement and exhaust upgrades to create the ultimate G63 AMG for the Urban Jungle. The hand-crafted conversion designed and manufactured in house takes over 450 man-hours to build and transforms the already menacing G-Class into an even more aggressive, purposeful looking vehicle. The car is then made to look even more muscular thanks to a 30 mm widened track as well as extended carbon fibre wheel arches. The burbling exhaust note that the standard G63 AMG is renowned for can be upgraded with a switchable carbon fibre tipped cat back system that creates a growling soundtrack to accompany the new angry appearance.

Existing components such as the front and rear bumpers, air intake grilles and wheel arches are replaced with ones made from carbon fibre. These replacement components can then be accompanied by optional additional carbon fibre styling trim such as wheel arch extensions, running board trim, front splitter, rear diffuser, roof mounted lighting, rear roof spoiler and bumper overriders to dial the aggressiveness up yet another notch. The whole look can then be finished off by a choice of Satin or Gloss Black Vossen wheels designed and made specifically for the Urban range of vehicles they have on offer. No area of the car has been overlooked that could not have been enhanced to appear more aggressive, more purposeful and designed to suit the G-Class ethos.

The Mercedes Benz G63 AMG has always been seemingly, on paper at least, a mismatch of a car yet one that seems to work so well at what it combines. Taking the upmost in comfort and refinement with old school aesthetics and traditional styling, as well as the ability to look at home in any situation. The Urban G-Wagon Widetrack takes that blend and transforms the G63 AMG into a more purposeful and focussed machine, taking the very characteristics of the car that bit further in terms of its styling, soundtrack and presence.

Our 2021 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG Urban Widetrack is finished in Selenite Grey metallic with exposed carbon fibre trim and full Black Nappa leather interior. The car comes with an extensive list of optional Urban features as well as the Widetrack conversion that include the exposed carbon fibre extended wheel arch trim, carbon fibre rooflights, upper rear wing in carbon fibre, valvesonic performance exhaust with carbon fibre tips, rear wheel carrier in carbon fibre with Urban lettering and 23” Vossen UV-4 Satin Black alloy wheels. The car also comes with the AMG Night Pack which has then been extended in appearance to include Satin Black running boards and front and rear badges. The car is presented in outstanding condition having covered just 2,900 miles. It also comes with the reminder of a Mercedes Benz manufacturer warranty until January 2024.
