Car Of The Week – Range Rover Sport SV Edition OneIt’s a great headline, and we’ve stole it straight from the SV Edition One’s press release. So thanks for that, Land Rover. 3.6 seconds is the official 0-60mph time according to Land Rover, which is absurdly quick.
It’s thanks to two things: outright power, and strange though it may be to say about a two-and-a-half-tonne luxury Range Rover of all cars, but lightness as well.
Year: 2025
Mileage: 6400
Colour: SV Ultra Metallic Bronze Matte
Interior: Cinder Grey and Ebony Ultrafabrics
The power comes from a 635PS, mild-hybrid Twin Turbo V8, meanwhile the lightness is courtesy of the 23-inch Carbon Fibre wheels (available in either gloss or matte, with the latter on display here), which Land Rover say contribute massively towards a 76kg total weight saving in comparison to a Range Rover Sport P530 of ‘nearest equivalent’ specification.
The claims don’t end there. The optional carbon ceramic brakes are the largest ever fitted to a Range Rover, and feature a World’s first caliper design, according to JLR. They’re also claiming a world’s first when it comes to the Hydraulic interlinked 6D Dynamics air suspension. At the time of release, the Edition One’s 4.4-litre, twin turbocharged V8 was the most powerful engine to make its way under the bonnet of a Range Rover, making 635bhp. As a consequence, the rear tyre are also the widest, and the front callipers the largest ever to be fitted to a Range Rover as well.
Usually the focus is on the optional features when it comes to high-end cars like these, but this time it’s slighty different. Nestled in the standard features are the Body and Soul seats, which use high-tech audio technology to allow those sat in them to experience genuine wellness benefits. The SV Edition One came in three colours: Carbon Bronze Matte, Obsidian Black Gloss and Flux Grey Gloss. There are also optional 23-inch carbon wheels in either gloss or Matte (the latter being present here), which contribute towards a total 76kg total weight saving.
