Hosted by the 5-star boutique hotel, Grantley Hall in Ripon, our clients were invited to breakfast, an exclusive driving experience through a curated route of breathtaking scenery and exhilarating roads, and to top it off, a BBQ to return to. With performance cars, stunning landscapes, and five-star hospitality, it was a day of pure driving pleasure, and lovely to see faces both old and new.

It began with the arrival at Grantley Hall, one of the best hotels in the whole of the UK, near Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal. Grantley Hall caters for every need, from spa breaks to wedding events. In this case, however, we had exclusive parking reserved specifically for event attendees at the front of the hall, which always makes for an impressive sight and served as an astonishing backdrop.

Tea, coffee and pastries soon followed for all, served in the delightful Grantley Hall Suite, which we were sorry to leave, but it was for good reason – it was time to depart! What happened next can only be described as out of this world – a convoy of remarkable machines going through some of the best scenery you can find in the UK, courtesy of the North Yorkshire Moors. The curated route wound its way through some lovely local areas, including Ripon, Northallerton, Stokesley, Sleights, Pickering and Helmsley, where a break had been organised.

There was some amazing metal in attendance, from half a million-pound super and hypercars, including Lamborghinis, Porsches, Aston Martins, McLarens, and Ferraris, to undeniably great sports cars like Jaguars and BMWs. A fantastic chance to stretch your performance car’s legs.

A four o’clock return saw us back at Grantley Hall, awaiting a private barbecue, served on Grantley Hall’s Pavilion Terrace to round out the day. A chance to discuss the incredible drive and enjoy the outstanding views, food and hospitality with like-minded people. An unforgettable day in the North York Moors.
