The facelifted first-generation Audi R8 V10 S tronic combines naturally aspirated V10 performance with the traction of quattro all-wheel drive and the refinement of a dual-clutch transmission. Powered by a 5.2-litre FSI V10 producing 518 bhp and 530 Nm of torque, it accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 195 mph. Peak power arrives at 8,000 rpm, giving the R8 the high-revving delivery and distinctive soundtrack central to its mid-engined supercar character. Introduced as part of the facelift, the 7-speed S tronic transmission replaced the earlier R tronic automated manual, bringing faster gear changes, smoother responses and improved everyday usability. Steering wheel-mounted paddles retain direct control over gear selection, while launch control manages acceleration from a standing start.

Built around Audi’s lightweight aluminium Audi Space Frame, the R8 combines double-wishbone suspension and hydraulically assisted steering with standard Audi magnetic ride, balancing precise body control with the comfort required for longer journeys. The facelift introduced revised bumpers, redesigned LED headlights and dynamic rear indicators, while the distinctive sideblades, glass engine cover and retractable rear spoiler preserve the original R8’s recognisable proportions. Inside, the wraparound monoposto cockpit features analogue instruments, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and electrically adjustable sports seats, with extended Fine Nappa leather upholstery and a Bang & Olufsen sound system fitted as standard to the V10. Combining a high-revving ten-cylinder engine, rapid S tronic shifts and a chassis that balances involvement with refinement, the Audi R8 V10 remains a compelling expression of the everyday supercar.
