£0Audi R8 GT
The second-generation Audi R8 GT, officially named the Audi R8 Coupé V10 GT RWD, represents the most focused and exclusive evolution of the Type 4S R8, launched as the final limited-production flagship of Audi’s naturally aspirated V10 supercar. Powered by a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 producing 612 bhp and 565 Nm of torque, paired with a revised 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive, the R8 GT accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 199 mph. Limited to 333 individually numbered examples worldwide, with only 15 being allocated to the UK, it became the most powerful rear-wheel-drive Audi ever produced. Compared with the R8 V10 Performance RWD, the GT introduced shorter transmission ratios, faster gearshifts and a 20 kg weight reduction, bringing its unladen weight down to 1,570 kg.
The GT’s chassis and aerodynamics were developed to deliver sharper circuit performance without sacrificing the everyday usability that defined the Audi R8. Its wind-tunnel-developed Carbon Aerokit includes a front splitter, flics, side skirt covers, rear diffuser and a gooseneck-mounted rear wing, while performance suspension with a carbon-fibre reinforced front anti-roll bar, ceramic brakes, forged 20-inch wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres further improve precision and grip. The GT-specific Torque Rear system provides seven selectable levels of traction control intervention, allowing the driver to progressively adjust rear-wheel slip through a steering wheel-mounted control. Inside, R8 bucket seats, red seat belts, black and red trim and a numbered carbon-fibre plaque reinforce its limited-edition status. Combining lightweight construction, rear-wheel-drive balance and one of the final applications of Audi’s high-revving V10, the second-generation Audi R8 GT stands as the purest and most collectible road-going R8.
