The B10-generation Audi RS5 Avant Carbon Black introduces Audi Sport’s first high-performance plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining six-cylinder performance with electric assistance and a newly developed quattro drivetrain. Its 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 works alongside an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed tiptronic transmission, producing a combined 630 bhp and 825 Nm of torque. With permanent quattro all-wheel drive, the RS5 Avant accelerates from 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. A 25.9 kWh battery enables electric-only driving for shorter journeys, while the hybrid system strengthens throttle response and acceleration. Dynamic Torque Control introduces electromechanical torque vectoring at the rear axle, actively distributing torque between the rear wheels to improve agility, traction and cornering precision.

The Carbon Black specification adds 21-inch 6-twin-spoke RS alloy wheels, a carbon-fibre RS front spoiler, carbon exterior detailing and carbon mirror housings, complemented by carbon twill structure inlays inside. Widened wheelarches, darkened Matrix LED headlights and black exterior trim reinforce the RS5 Avant’s purposeful appearance, while RS sport suspension with twin-valve dampers balances controlled body movement with long-distance comfort. Inside, Sports seats plus feature RS honeycomb upholstery, heating, ventilation and massage functions, alongside Audi’s curved digital cockpit and a separate 10.9-inch front passenger display. Combining hybrid-assisted V6 performance, sophisticated quattro technology and distinctive carbon-fibre detailing with five-door estate versatility, the Audi RS5 Avant Carbon Black brings a substantially different technical approach to Audi’s established performance Avant formula.
