Aston Martin DB12 for sale
Used Aston Martin DB12 for sale
The highly anticipated replacement of the DB11 arrived in 2023. An important car for the company, they needed to prove the DB11 wasn’t a fluke. And they didn’t disappoint. The introduction of the DB12 continued Aston’s newfound success as one of the best Grand Tourers on the market.
What the DB12 has to offer
Remaining homogenous to the Aston Martin design DNA could never be a bad thing, and the DB12 remains a very handsome machine, as indeed its predecessor was, being elegant whilst remaining menacingly muscular. The DB12 also remains true to Aston’s tried and tested GT formula as a front-engined, 2+2 coupe with only a turbocharged V8 which drives exclusively the rear wheels. That’s right. There’s no longer a V12 version. If it’s wind in the hair thrills you seek, there’s an open-top Volante variant. Whether you go for the coupe or convertible, however, both exude the quintessential Britishness you’d expect from Aston Martin, alongside loose ties to a certain British secret agent with a licence to kill. Regardless, the DB12 is unmistakable, handsome and has a certain presence that commands the roads. On top of this, the DB12 is fully capable of that effortless, country-crossing pace that a GT simply needs to have, thanks to its more than plenty 671bhp and 800Nm of torque.
Interior and tech
Interior-wise, the DB12 remains as elegant as it does on the exterior- a truly easy place to while away the hours- a special place to be. Handcrafted, luxurious leather covers nearly every surface, from the seats to the dash and even to the doors, heightening the Aston’s sense of luxury and prestige. The Aston doesn’t have tonnes of tech, some of which you might expect, such as a head-up display, but the seats are at least heated and ventilated as standard and electrically adjustable too, meaning you should be able to get comfortable behind the wheel. Infotainment is a big step up from Options such as duo tone leather make the interior very special indeed, though some say it still trails behind the interior of its close rival, the Bentley Continental.
What are the running costs?
A car with a turbocharged V8 is never going to be extremely environmentally conscious. According to WLTP regulations, the DB12 achieves 23.2 mpg combined and emits 276g/km of CO2, which is a very slight improvement over the DB11, and there’s no V12 model anymore, which means the DB12 model as a whole is much more environmentally friendly. The Ferrari Roma, a close rival of the DB12, is slightly worse in terms of fuel economy, achieving only 19mpg, but trumping the DB12’s CO2 emissions, registering 255 g/km.
